The original St Olaf’s church dates back to the 11th Century, but little remains of this other than a stone archway. There is also a stone credence, and this was incorporated into the present church when it was being built in the mid 1870s.

The building we worship in now was opened and dedicated on 29th July, 1876. There’s much of historical interest to see inside, so do visit us!

The credence from the original St Olaf’s Kirk.
The Font – found at Westness in Rousay and believed to be almost 1000 years old.
The altar from the old mission chapel where Episcopalians worshipped prior to 1876
The organ – believed to be the oldest church organ in use in Orkney.
The wooden sculpture of St Olaf, carved by Frances Pelly.
Pulpit Fall – designed and made by Rev John Morson and commemorating some of our past members.
